Travel to the majestic Blue Mountains in the comfort of an air-conditioned mini-coach, with your driver doubling as the guide for the day providing interesting snippets and details on the attractions along the way. What’s more… your scenic tour of Blue Mountains comes with a Sydney Harbour Café Mezze & Champagne cruise voucher (can be redeemed on any day, within the validity period) ABSOLUTELY FREE!
Go on this small group Blue Mountains & Featherdale Wildlife Park tour, which ensures a personalised touring experience of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains!
The first destination on the itinerary for the day is the charming village of Leura, a place that exudes the soul of Blue Mountains with stunning scenery. Take in lungfuls of fresh mountain air, devoid of pollution. Enjoy a morning tea while exploring the many antique shops, galleries and book shops that dot this picturesque village.
After tea and refreshments, it’s time to head to one of the main highlights of the day, the majestic Three Sisters. Standing at an impressive 922, 918 and 906 metres above the ground, Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo are single slabs of sandstone. As the sun moves across the sky, different shades are cast across the rock faces and is an amazing natural phenomenon.
See some spectacular views of Blue Mountains at the Scenic World. Get 360° views of this World Heritage region, that’s replete with droves of eucalyptus trees, majestic cliffs and canyons. Fun fact: it’s the eucalyptus droplets in the atmosphere that lend a blue tinge to the skies, giving rise to the name Blue Mountains.
There are numerous ways to see the best of Blue Mountains from Scenic World. Go on the Sky Way for a floating experience over the region. There is also a Cable Way ride that offers great views of the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock, Mt. Solitary and Katoomba Falls. The Scenic Railway is the steepest passenger railway with glass-roofed carriages offering expansive views of the rainforest and Jamison Valley.
Lunch is served at the Conservation Hut Café in Wentworth Falls. Located in the Valley of the Waters, enjoy a hearty gourmet lunch out on the open verandah during the summer or cosy up beside a warm and welcoming log fire in the winter. Enjoy roving views of the Jamison Valley from here as you tuck into the lunch made from freshly-sourced produce.
Featherdale Wildlife Park is the last stop for the day. Spend time at the park hugging koalas and hand-feeding kangaroos and wallabies. Get up-close and personal with many diverse species of wildlife that call Featherdale home, in their natural bush environment.
Return to Sydney via a river cruise down the Parramatta River and enjoy a free beer, wine or soft drink. Get great views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge before the vessel docks at Darling Harbour or Circular Quay. Both are major hubs of transportation, allowing you easy passage to your place of accommodation.
*Free Tour: Your sightseeing cruise includes a Mezze platter of salads, cheese and cold cuts, complemented by a bottle of Australian champagne, topped by views of Sydney Harbour attractions!
