Next is a lunch stop at Bloom’s Cafe, one of the oldest running bush pubs in Queensland. You will then cross rivers and climb mountain ranges to reach the famous Lion’s Den Hotel.Built in 1875 of timber and iron, The infamous Lion’s Den Hotel includes a museum, where they have on display a collection of unique prospector artefacts.
Next is a unique geological oddity, Black Mountain. Clouded in mystery, spirituality and entrenched in Aboriginal folklore, this mountain is a sight not to be missed.
After Black Mountain, walk to the top of Grassy Hill from where you can enjoy panoramic views of Endeavour River, surrounded by Coral Sea and Cooktown. This lookout is also known to be the place where Captain Cook endeavoured to fix his broken ship.
Your tour ends with some free time to explore Cooktown. Stroll along the streets and visit the attractions of this iconic town. You will be transferred to Cooktown Airport for the return 45-minute scenic flight with Hinterland Aviation along the Daintree Coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Your tour ends as you arrive at the Cairns Airport around 6.50pm.
